Public content should be accessible to everyone. E-Control therefore endeavours to improve accessibility on our website by applying the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) . These guidelines have been developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) with the aim to foster accesibility of web contents.
When designing our website, we have tried to avoid technologies that make using our pages more difficult or even impossible. Where this was not feasible, we make an effort to offer adaptable content that can be presented in different ways.
E-Control's web presence respects the level A WCAG 2.0 standards.
How to use E-Control's website
Resize: zoom in on pages by pressing the 'Ctrl' and '+' keys or zoom out with the 'Ctrl' and '-' keys. (If you are an apple user, use the apple key instead of 'Ctrl'.)
Keyboard accessibility: use the 'Tab' key to select an item from the navigation bars and confirm by pressing 'Enter'.
Ditinguishable: each page has at least one headline (H1 or H3) you can directly jump to with your screen reader.
Navigable: most hyperlinks have meaningful titles and short descriptions of the pages the links lead to.
Text alternatives: all images and pictures should have alternative texts. These texts are displayed on mouseover. There are also descriptive texts about each image for your screen reader.
PDF files: to open, read and print a pdf file, you need to install Acrobat Reader on your computer. It is a free software and can be downloaded here:
