  • Born in 1969 in Graz, Styria.
  • Studies of law at University of Graz and University of Regensburg.
  • Studies of European law at College d'Europe in Bruges (Master of European Law).
  • From 1993: academic assistant at the Institute for Public Law, Political Science and Administrative Studies at University of Graz and at the European Parliament in Brussels. Internships with the European Parliament's Legal Service and the European Court of Justice (both in Luxembourg).
  • 1998: research associate at the Austrian Constitutional Court.
  • 1999 - April 2001: member of the legal department at Telekom-Control GmbH.
  • Since 2001: Head of Legal Department at E-Control.
  • Continuous publications on public commercial law, along with teaching and speaking engagements at Universities of Graz and Vienna and universities of applied sciences.
  • 2011 - 2016: member of  the Board of Appeal at the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) in Ljubljana.
  • Since 2013: chair of the Energy Community Advisory Committee, Vienna.
  • Since March 2016: Executive Director of E-Control Austria.
