NATURAL GAS STATISTICS
The Austrian natural gas statistics primarily contain market information and cover also the energy balance. The full range of natural gas statistics of E-Control is available from our German pages; only key information in English is posted here.
The monthly natural gas balance is based on the first and second clearing for demand and supply. To this hourly data, the main balance items are added on a monthly basis. This includes e.g. physical imports and exports, production (extraction), injection into and the withdrawal from storage facilities, injection of biogas and own use for production, storage and transport.
The natural gas statistics are therefore commodity balances based on physical flows.
