Monitoring smart meter roll-out
In line with section 2(1) Intelligente Messgeräte-Einführungs-Verordnung (Smart Meter Rollout Ordinance), E-Control monitors the roll-out of smart meters by system operators across Austria. The Ordinance obliges system operators to submit information on several points by 31 March of each year: - Progress with installations
- Experience with data protection
- Evolution of consumers’ energy demand
- Network condition
This information is collected and used by E-Control to draw up an annual report on smart meter roll-out. The reports are available from our German pages.
