  • Born in Vienna in 1953
  • Degree in Engeneering Physics from Vienna University of Technology
  • After completing his degree, he held different IT-related positions at an Austrian banking group.
  • For ten years, he was at the head of the Austrian branch of an international consulting group with a focus on management and technology consulting.
  • 1991 - 1996: work for a large Austrian Bank of Commerce in Central and Eastern Europe with a focus on restructuring energy utilities
  • 1996 - 1999: member of the management of an important German consulting enterprise

  • 1999 – 2001: member of the Management Board of Price Pricewaterhouse Coopers Management Consulting for the Department of Energy & Utilities. In this position he worked intensively on all issues related to the liberalisation of energy markets in Austrian and Western Europe.
  • Since 2001 he has been Managing Director of E-Control.
  • In 2001 he chaired the Working Group on Security of Supply of the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER).
  • From 2004 to 2005 he chaired the Working Group on the Single Energy Market of the Council of European Energy Regulators.
  • From 2004 to 2005 he was president of the Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB).
  • Since 2006, he has been vice-president of CEER and has been chairing its Gas Working Group.

  • Born in Amstetten, Lower Austria, in 1976
  • Part-time studies in Industrial Engineering at the TGM School of Technology, Vienna
  • Part-time studies in business consulting at the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt
  • 1995 to 2001: member of the departments of Finance & Accounting and Controlling as well as Marketing & Sales of Verbundplan GmbH - an enterprise of Verbund Group
  • 2001 to 2002: expert for quality management systems at Mobilkom Austria AG & Co KG
  • Since January 2007 he has been head of the Tariffs Department of E-Control
  • Since March 2011 Managing Director of E-Control

  • Fulfilment of the tasks conferred upon E-Control by the Energie-Regulierungsbehördengesetz (Energy Regulatory Authorities Act)
  • Representation of E-Control
  • Management of E-Control's business
  • Accountability vis-à-vis the E-Control bodies
  • Determination of the company's objectives and policies
  • Public relations
  • Support of the Regulative Commission (Regulierungskommission)
  • Representation of E-Control in the international and European framework and institutions
